Senior year has to be the best. I thought I would start my first blog in a really long time with a cliche but positive statement. My fresman year was terrible. My sophomore year was spent finding a place in a new school. (funny I've just now found it.) Junior year was fast. But my senior year, whole different story.
I have to say that this has been one of the best few months of my life because of the incredible things I am participating in. Laugh, make fun, whatever you want, but a single season of marching band has made my high school career. Piedmont high school pride has the absolute best people you could find anywhere in our world. I think that being in an odd position, being a 1st year and a last year all at the same time, has given me an awesome point of veiw. I am able to witness and admire everything that the oldies do and have done for 5 years. I am able to see how quickly and impressively the 8th graders throw themselves into the work. And no matter how much experience, all have the utmost respect and admiration for our incredible instructors. Every other program I have been in, the students with me spend half of their social time bashing their adult leaders. Not a Piedmont band student.
Just thinking about the hours we have put into it... It's absolutely amazing. I don't remember life before band camp. And the parents. We all have the most amazing parents. How much time and money do they put into for us? And, jeez, how the heck were there enough parents to start a chant in St. Loius?? No way would have it been possible without our crazy band moms.
I find myself constantly thinking about how lucky I and every other band student is to be involved in this. And maybe I'm biased, but holy cow we are pretty good. So short is the best time of these long 4 years. I'm proud to declare myself a band nerd, a colorguard girl. You guys are all amazing. I would give up many more years of my life to do this with you, every single one of you. Bring on state! We are beyond ready. Bring on the waterworks, my senior buddies.... Crescendo to the end!!

since I'm on a roll.
I have decided the first question I will ask God in heaven.
Of all the amazing and beautiful things in the world, why, dear God, why fleas?
I think they are Gods way of inducing Karma. Been bad this year? Bad flea season!!! Called your sister a stink face? Bad flea season!!! Abandoned your dog at your parents home? Bad flea season!!! (sorry angela, popped in my head, love you)
Dog's must not be God's favorite animal. (poor Spirit has a whole next of eggs on her face, they won't leave her be.) I like my sleep flea free, thank you very much. =D

The military life
It's a funny thing I've noticed. You know those news stories, on sites like yahoo and stuff? The ones of kidnapped or killed soldiers, that you just kinda look at and are sad, but are over it after the first few new emails? It's funny how they make me sick. Really sick. Oh boy. (I know, I know, he's never gonna get sent overseas.... right?)

This one time, at band camp...
Everyone should be in a good marching band program like Piedmont's. It's actually a lot of fun. In my experience when you work really hard at getting better, you can successfully ignore the few people who actually drive you nuts, and just enjoy the fun people. It's also interesting that no matter how hard you try to make the younger kids fear you and leave you alone, they attatch to you anyway, and tell you all their silly pointless stories. oh, to be an 8th grader again....

Water
I have decided that water is the cure for everything. No, seriously, think about it. Can you think of anything water can't cure? For example.....
- If you are dying of thirst..... drink some water! (duh)
- If you smell funny and people seem to be avoiding your presence... take a shower!
- If you have a garden and you can't figure out why it keeps dying... try watering it.
- Two words. flush toilets.
- There's this creepy guy that you think is stalking you. So depending on the severity of his stalking, you can get a squirt gun, hide around a corner, and when he comes looking for you... A fire hose might work best for the especially creepy ones.
- An alternative fuel source. There has to be a way.
- Alcoholism!! (simply replace vodka with nasty tasting water)
- Obesity. Give everyone one of those endless lap pools
- Everyone should spend at least an hour in a pool everyday. It's very relaxing, maybe people would be less stressed.
- Ophelia seemed to find a good use for it. But that's too morbid to talk about in a blog.

Intro
I've decided to start a blog! I figure that at least one person will read it regularly....
hi mom!
I am currently sitting in Panera on my computer. Moping in the apartment just doesn't cut it, moping in a public environment is at least less lonely.
Life is slow. Lindsey is traveling with her opera, haha, silly her. Dad is enjoying computer programming. Fish is helping with a wedding. Michael (Struve) still doesn't come home for 5 more days! Thats a lifetime!
I can't really think of anything to post at the moment, but I'm sure something will come to me in this next endless week.
enjoy the blog!
